Data collected from each facility assessment is used to define the renovation scope and develop budgets within a comprehensive district master plan. These plans encompass the full range of building renovation requirements, anticipated costs for new construction, and detailed analyses of both current and projected enrollment figures. Compliance
Comprehensive Compliance Reviews
Since 2001, we have provided detailed compliance reviews for a wide range of projects. Our process includes evaluations of architectural drawings and specifications for systems and materials, civil and structural details, and building floor plans. Additionally, we analyze each district’s program to determine building area and square footage requirements.
Design Phase Submission and State Review
As part of the compliance process, Colotto Consulting produces overall design phase submissions for review by the team and the state. We collaborate in gathering all required state documents at each design phase, presenting a final submission for district and OFCC signature and approval.
Ohio School Design Manual Review Expertise
To date, Chris Colotto has completed over 900 individual Ohio School Design Manual reviews, covering more than 25 million square feet of new and renovated building area.
Financial
Budget Tracking and Reporting
Colotto Consulting works closely with districts and state authorities to monitor co-funded and locally funded project expenditures. Our team creates and presents Locally Funded Initiative Memorandums of Understanding between the state and school districts, outlining and confirming the locally funded scope of each project.
Project Budget Reporting and Reconciliation
Each month, we present detailed project budget reports to the team, including the tracking of owners’ project contingency dollars. We also balance and reconcile monthly and quarterly district reports with state project software records, providing projected cost drawdown requests and reports to districts and the state.
Extensive Financial Management Experience
Our financial management services encompass budget reporting, analysis, and expenditure tracking for over $4.7 billion worth of Ohio Facilities Construction Commission projects. This track record highlights our expertise in delivering accurate and reliable financial oversight.
Closeout
Documentation and Financial Reconciliation
In the project closeout phase, Colotto Consulting produces all relevant financial documentation and assists with the completion of other required materials to ensure a smooth project close. This includes balancing and reconciling years’ worth of project costs and presenting a comprehensive final project report to both the school district and the state.
